i really like this song, but it would carry so much more power if it was all a bit tighter, faster, and had better fills or transitions between the different parts.

yeah i suppose u do...
yes, an earlier comment was that the first verses sound an awful lot like "while my guitar gently weeps" which is unfortunate, but i maintain that i did not realize it until way after writing and recording it, and that while the first few notes of the vocal melody are technically identical (but in a different key), from there on out through the rest of each verse both the melody and chord progression are musically unique from the beatles song. blah!
